• Loading phase
  The sewage water collected in the collection and equalization chamber is fed into the SBR tank. The filling of water in the SBR tank is done through an airlift pump or mechanical pump depending on the design
• Aeration phase
  Activated sludge in the presence of air/ oxygen consumes the pollutants in the SBR chamber. Air is supplied in a time- sequenced manner in this phase. An anoxic phase can be introduced depending on the requirement to have denitrification in the water after the loading phase.
• Rest phase
  During the rest phase, the activated sludge settles at thebottom of the tank. A clear water zone appears on the upper layer of water in the SBR
• Clearwater extraction
  The clear water from the upper layer is then transferred for subsequent reuse or disposal to the treated water tank, drain or farm. Thereafter, the settled activated sludge in the SBR tank is returned to the collection tank and the process is repeated.
